Who We Are:

Southern Minnesota Mothers of Multiples is a not-for-profit organization devoted to making the experience of raising twins, triplets or more a positive one. We began in 1961 as a small group of local mothers of twins with a desire to support one another in this unique parenting experience.  Currently, we have an active membership averaging 75 members each year.  Any parent/guardian of multiples is invited to join.

Annual Membership runs January-December.
Yearly dues are $30 if joining January 1- June 30; pro-rated to $15 if joining after July 1 for New Members Only.

Benefits of Membership:

Meetings ~ Regular attendance at our monthly meetings give members the opportunity to connect with other MOMs and share problems and advice on the needs specific to raising multiples and hear from fun and informative guest speakers on a wide variety of topics.

Newsletter ~ Our newsletter, “Multiple Memos”, is published monthly. It includes information on upcoming meetings and events, helpful hints on child care, birth announcements of area multiples, and other related information.

UC&E Sales ~ Our Used Clothing & Equipment Sale is held every spring and fall. Members have the opportunity to sell and also get a chance to pre-shop at the “Members’ Only” Sale before we open to the general public.

Support -
Sunshine & Shade ~ Our Sunshine and Shade team help us celebrate the “Sunshine”, and support and encourage our membership during our times of “Shade”. We also strive to support not only those MOMs who choose to join us as members, but also MOMs and their families within our community. Support and encouragement is also offered by connecting with new mothers of multiples who have given birth locally. Contact is made with the family and an informational packet is sent, as well as offering three complimentary monthly newsletters.

Helping Hands ~ Our Helping Hands Committee coordinates support for our membership through meals, household help, and donations for those MOMs needing a little extra TLC. Helping Hands also plans and coordinates volunteer and outreach opportunities for our members within the community for charitable causes that directly impact us as MOMs.

Preemie Closet ~ While we wish all our expectant MOMs a long and healthy pregnancy, we know that’s not always the case. We have a “preemie closet” stocked full of preemie sized clothes available to borrow in the event that a MOM delivers prematurely. We also have for loan to any MOM-- two hospital-grade breast pumps that can be borrowed.

Special Events -
As a way to bring our members and their families together, So. MN MOMs host several fun opportunities for the whole family throughout the year, i.e. a spring party, summer picnic, fall costume party and a holiday party. Members also have the opportunity to attend the annual MN Mothers of Multiples State Workshop hosted by one of the many MOMs clubs from around the state.
